HALE, Sedrick J., age 96, of Callao, widower of Virginia W. Hale, died on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Mr. Hale was a member, deacon and trustee of Bethany Baptist Church. He was a farmer, retired sheriff of Northumberland County, and a 60-year member of Heathsville Lodge # 109, A.F. & A.M. Surviving are his sister, Alda Jane Hughes of Callao; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Bethany Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery.
