Funeral services for William Charles Parker, 73, of 125 East 4800 South, Murray, who died Tuesday at 5:10 a.m. at his home of complications following a broken hip, will be conducted Friday noon. Bishop Wilmer Barnett of the Murray Third Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate at 250 East South Temple St.

A son of Edwin and Catherine Cox Parker, he was born October 23, 1878 at Hooper, Weber County.

Prior to his moving to Pocatello, Idaho to manage the Martin Furniture Company, he traveled for Ogden Furniture and Carpet Company for ten years. He also was employed in the mercantile business in Montpelier Idaho in 1927. He then moved to Richfield where he managed the J. M Peterson Company. From 1934 until his retirement in 1946 he was owner and manager of the Parker Feed Company in Murray.

Mr. Parker held the office of high priest in the Murray Third Ward. He fulfilled a mission in the Southern States from 1899 to 1901, also two stake missions. He was a member of the high priest's presidency of Granite Stake and the Sunday school superintendency of Murray First Ward. At one time he was stake supervisor of the religion class of Weber Stake.

On October 16, 1906 he married Mary Ann (Birdie) Phelps in the Logan Temple. She survives him as do two sons and two daughters; C Howard Parker and Mrs. Winifred Stanley, Salt Lake City, Gail A. Parker, Murray; and Mrs. Mary Nelson, Rigby Idaho. Additional survivors include the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Eliza Russell and Mrs. Lula Child, Ogden; Mrs. Susie Bues, Mrs. May Belnap, Mrs. Minnie Green and Parel, Leet and Vern Parker, all of Hooper, and Levi Parker, Lehi, and 12 grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday prior to services at the place of funeral. Burial will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.
