RICHARD EARL MARTZ, 85, retired truck driver with Fruehauf Trailer Company passed away at home on October 5, 2006. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of DeSoto Lodge #299 F. & A.M. of Tennessee, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1996 and served as Tiler from 1998 to 2006. He leaves his wife, Mary Lou Martz; four sons, Milton E. Armstrong of Bartlett, Elbert E. Martz of Atoka, Joe R. Martz of Munford and David E. Pavlik of Orlando, Fl.; one daughter, Joyce E. Craig of Collierville; one brother, Samuel J. Martz of Memphis and two sisters, Patricia Baker of Clarksville, TN and Beverly Pitts of Adena, OH.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Susan Johnson, RN and Verline Hibbler, CNA for the excellent care and concerns for the family during his illness. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday October 8, with Masonic Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Monday, October 9 all at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel with interment to follow in Memory Hill Gardens. The family requests in lieu flowers that donations be made to the H.C. "Pappy" Warner Fund at Desoto Lodge or to Crossroads Hospice.
