She never married. Lois was very active in New York society and charity circles throughout her life. She was a graduate of Bennett College in Millbrook, New York. She was a lifelong member of the Republican Party, and was active in the Episcopal Church.
On Monday, April 28, 1969, three months short of her ninety-first birthday, Lois passed away at her home of natural causes incident to age. She resided at 108 East 38th Street in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan at the time of her death.
Following a Funeral Service in the Church of the Heavenly Rest located at Fifth Avenue and 90th Street in Manhattan, Lois was laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Kisco, Westchester County.
