She never married. Harriette was very active in New York society and charity circles throughout her life. She was a longtime member of the Bagby Music Lovers Foundation. She was a graduate of Bennett College in Millbrook, New York.
On Tuesday, March 3, 1964, five months short of her eightieth birthday, Harriette passed away at her home of natural causes incident to age. She resided at 108 East 38th Street in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan at the time of her death.
Following a Funeral Service in the Church of the Heavenly Rest located at Fifth Avenue and 90th Street in Manhattan, Harriette was laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Kisco, Westchester County.
