"Robert E. Echeveria"
"Robert E. Echeveria of Salinas died Wednesday at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 64.
Mr. Echeveria was a life-long resident of Salinas. He was descended from a family that pioneered the Salinas Valley and his ancestry dates back to Juan Bautista Alvarado, the first territorial governor of California. Mr. Echeveria had been employed as a shop foreman with the Harden Farms truck department, and was a member of the Prunedale Church of Christ. He graduated from Salinas High School in 1941 and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Aline Echeveria of Salinas; two sons, Robert J. Echeveria of Fortuna, and Mark E. Echeveria of Salinas; three daughters, Esther L. Gorham of San Luis Obispo, Geri Standridge of Bellville, Ariz., Joyce Nichols of Sacramento; his mother, Lena Echeveria of Salinas; three sisters, Geri Kalstrom of Salinas, Eva Morgan of Hollister, Ann Chytil of Los Angeles; one brother, Jim D. Echeveria of Salinas; 13 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Healey Mortuary. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories."
