JACKSON FARMER TAKEN BY DEATH
Frank Benton, 54, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Sunday [Oct. 20, 1940] at his home in Jackson Township, two miles north of Sardinia. He had been ill the past year and seriously ill the past week.
Mr. Benton was born August 30, 1886 in Jackson Township, the son of George C. and Cynthia Susan Tomson Benton. On April 5, 1913 he was married to Nettie Manlief.
Surviving with the widow are a brother, Thomas Benton, of Shelbyville, and a sister, Grace Benton.
Mr. Benton was a member of the Sardinia Baptist Church, the Masonic Blue Lodge, the Chapter, Council, the Commandery and the Shrine.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the residence, with the Rev. Harold Gray officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery south of Forest Hill. The Masons will have charge at the grave.
