He married Mary Jane Ellis and fathered Elizabeth (b. 08/05/72 - married Adam Ellis), Anna Mary (b. 05/28/79, d. 09/02/79), William E. (b. 08/15/80), Samuel Philip (b. 06/07/83), Elmer Clayton (b. 04/11/84 or 85), and Arnold Zenith or Cenith (b. 08/23/89). He died at age 71-9-6 from "chronic fibroid tuberculosis complicated with valvular heart disease."
