SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services will be at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 4, 2003 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Ray H. Basinger was born June 30, 1919 and entered into rest on November 3, 2003.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Basinger and Flora Basinger Alvis; two brothers, Neil Basinger and D. L. Basinger; two grandchildren, James Russell Hale and Blyth Anne Hale.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Blanche M. Basinger, one brother, Willard Basinger and wife, Pam, and sister, Estelle Langston; sons, Michael W. Basinger and wife, Connie, Mark Basinger; daughters, Sandra Lewis and husband, Don, Peggie Chenault and husband, Johnny, and Brenda Jernigan and husband, Ryan; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Watkins, Ray Brammer, Phillip G. Hale, Donald F. Lewis II, Kevin Powers, Donald F. Lewis and Honorary Pallbearer will be John Hale.
He retired from KCS Railroad after 39 years of service. Mr. Basinger was a member of the American Legion and VFW.
