A. Buffington Died Last Saturday Evening
Mrs. Jim Buffington, long time resident of Delphos and community, died at her home here in Delphos last Saturday evening about 9:00 p.m. Funeral services were conducted from the home and the Methodist Church, Tuesday, October 19, at 2:00 p.m. Burial was made in the Delphos Cemetery.
Mary Adeline Buffington
Mary Adeline Bowser was born on March 14, 1880 at Bolivar, Missouri and departed this life at her home in Delphos, Kansas on October 16, 1948 at the age of 68 years, 7 months and 2 days.
She was united in marriage to James Buffington on March 18, 1913 at Liberty, Missouri, then came to Delphos and has made her home here ever since.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, James Buffington of the home; two brothers, James Bowser and Walter Bowser, both of Bolivar, Missouri. She also leaves a number of stepchildren and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from the home and the Methodist Church on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. H.G. Feldmann was the officiating clergyman. Interment was made in Delphos Cemetery. The Hartley Funeral Service was in
charge of arrangements. Singers were Mrs. Max Rolph, Mrs. Lael Gilbert, Mrs. H.F. Summers and Mrs. M.P. Ballard, Alva Adams was the accompanist. Pallbearers
were Clarence Cain, Howard Cain, Roscoe Bourne, Charles Parks, Dale Brown and Alfred Tasker.
