Mother of Judge Riley E. Stevens dies Dunday following long illness:

Mrs. George W. Stevens, mother of Country Judge Riley E. Stevens, died at her home, 1 mile east of Knoxville, Sunday afternoon at 3:45 O'clock after an illness of four weeks. Mrs. Stevens death resulted from pneumonia.

For the past year Mrs. Stevens had been in poor health. She was critically ill a year ago during the successful campaign her son was making for election to the office he now holds four weeks ago she was again taken ill and a week ago gangrene developed.

Mrs. Stevens, who was Tryphena Louis Corbin, was born in Persifer Township June 26 1869. She resided in that same Township all her life, excepting six years apart in Nebraska.

Her marriage to George W. Stevens took place in Galesburg, Illinois Jan. 11, 1887.

Mrs. was the Mother of six children, five whom survive. They are Roy L. Stevens, George R. Stevens, Harold Leo Stevens and Mervyn W. Stevens, all of Persifer Township, and Judge riley E. Stevens of Galesburg, one daugher Mable, died in infancy.

There are four sisters, Mrs. Ida Powell, Crab Orchard, Nebraska, Mrs. Mary Dredge, Harrison, Neb., Mrs. Ada Lindsey, and Mrs. Lillie Phillips, both of Bell, California. Three brothers, Elmus Corbin,Harrison, Neb, Carl Corbin Harrison Neb, and Milo Corbin, Bell California, one brother, Ben Corbin, died a number of years ago.

Funeral services are to be held at the home Thursday morning at 10:30 O'clock. Burial will be made in the Knoxville Cemetery.
