BAXTER -- Funeral services for Willie B. Burgess, 85, of Baxter, will be
held at 2 p.m. on Wed., April 21, from the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Baxter.

The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today, Tues., April 20, at the
funeral home.

Mr. Burgess died on Mon., April 19, 1999, at Masters Health Care Center.

He was born on June 27, 1913, in Granville to the late William and Pheebie
Brown Burgess. Mr. Burgess was retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a
member of First Baptist Church in Baxter. He served as Deacon for more than
40 years in the Baptist Church.

His family includes a son and daughter-in-law, Ernest and Glenda Burgess of
Baxter; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Margaret and Paul Scott of Michigan;
a son-in-law, John Machniak of Michigan; three granddaughters, Kimberly
Stamper of Michigan, Sheila Franklin of Cookeville and Ellen Bailey of
Colorado; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary
Ellen Scarlett Burgess; a daughter, Mabel Machniak; a grandson, Charles
Dunger; five brothers, Verble, Fred, Carmel, Cecil and Vestal Burgess; two
sisters, Anna Ruth Collier and Lyda Ann Gilbert.

Bro. John Davis will officiate at the services.
