Jerome A. Hellmann, 74, of Labadie, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2010, in Labadie. Mr. Hellmann was born to Vincent and Hilda, nee Buhr, Hellmann in Washington. He received his education at St.John the Baptist School, Gildehaus. He was employed as a carpenter with Local 1839. Mr. Hellmann was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Gildehaus. On June 29, 1957, he was united in marriage with Lorraine Westhoelter at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington. This union was blessed with one son and four daughters. Preceding him in death, besides his parents, was one sister, Dorothy Baker, two brothers-in-law, Russell Mayer and Edward Baker, and one sister-in-law, Rita Staatmann. Survivor include his wife Lorraine Hellmann of Labadie, one son Steven Hellmann of Beaufort and his wife Michele, four daughters, Marie Struckhoff of Marthasville and her husband Jerome, Diane Loepker of New Haven and her husband Junior, Linda Patke of Villa Ridge and her husband Clarence, Jr., Donna Swoboda of Villa Ridge and her husband Martin; four brothers, James and his wife Mary of Villa Ridge, Dennis and his wife Darlene of Villa Ridge, Robert and his wife Ruth of Washington, Leo of Kirkwood; four sisters, Mary Anne Hellmann of Villa Ridge, Rosalie Mayer of Washington, Theresa Schwoeppe of Marthasville and her husband Kenneth, Rita Meyer of Marthasville and her husband Ted, Jr.; sixteen grandchildren, Jessica Struckhoff and special friend Mike, Daniel Struckhoff and fiancee Ashley James, Steven Struckhoff and special friend Crystal, Kelly Theiss and her hband Ben, Brian and Jason Loepker, Emily, Andrew, and Kimberly Patke, Anthony, Julia, Anna, Philip, and Nicholas Swoboda, and Stephanie and Nichael Hellmann, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral Mass wasd celebrated Saturday, July 3, 2010, at St. John the Baptist Church at Gildehaus, Celebrants Fr. Jim French and Fr. Don Buhr. Interment was in the church cemetery. The Hellmann family was served by the staff of the Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, Washington.
