Flora Long, 88, St. Louis Park, formerly of Pipestone, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 27 from 5-8 p.m. at the Hartquist Funeral Home, Pipestone Chapel.

Funeral service will be held Monday, June 28 at 11 a.m. at Peace United Methodist Church, Pipestone with Pastor Rod Stemme officiating.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Long, Phillip Kayser, Katie Mikesh, Keith Long, Sheila Terrill, Julie LaClair and David Long.

Interment will be in Old Woodlawn Cemetery, Pipestone.
Memorials are preferred to Peace United Methodist Church, Pipestone.

Flora Virginia (Leach) Long was born to Charles and Gertrude (Mauzey) Leach on July 22, 1921 in Erick, Okla. She was raised and received her education in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. She graduated from Weatherford (Texas) High School in 1939 and received her B.S. degree from Texas Wesleyan in 1943.
She married Donald William Long on Oct. 12, 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas. Following their marriage they lived on the family farm near Pipestone where Flora was busy raising their three children.

Don preceded her in death on April 3, 1991. After his death, Flora continued to live on the farm near Pipestone. When she suffered her stroke in 2002, she moved to St. Louis Park to be closer to her children.
She was a member of Peace United Methodist church in Pipestone where she was very active in the church.

She is survived by her three children, Rod (Donna Tabbert) Long, St. Anthony; Shauna (George) Kayser, Plymouth and Sheila (Ken) LaClair, White Bear Lake; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four siblings, Louise Enochs, Fort Worth, Texas; Lowe (Inez) Leach, Whitesboro, Texas; Wilma Mahanay, Alvardo, Texas; Lucy (David) Hill, Whitesboro, Texas; and sister-in-law, Mildred (Shirley) Leach, Weatherford.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Ned Leach and his wife Arabelle; John G. Leach and his wife, Irene; Shirley Leach and his wife Odessa; two sisters, Grace Dallas and her husband Durrell, and Dora Leach; two brother-in-laws, Harry Enochs and A.B. Mahanay.
