Issac Kilmer was born in Berks County, Pennsylvania and was the son of Jonathan Kilmer and Susanna Katterman Kilmer.
Isaac 's siblings were: Thomas (November 3, 1807), Jonathan (February 11, 1809), Elizabeth (July 10, 1810. She married Elias Levengood), Marie (November 2, 1811), Katharine (August 8, 1814. She married G.B. Deppen), Magdalena (September 5, 1818. She married George Lien on June 18, 1837), John (June 17, 1820. He married Catherine Arentz of Lebanon, PA on August 17, 1841), Henry (April 24, 1822), Priscilla (June 26 1824) and Lucy (May 10, 1826. She married Henry Tice on February 20, 1847).
Isaac came to Ohio as a young man and was a farmer. He apparently went back and forth to Pennsylvania in the early years. I believe he may have been married twice. First to Mariah Gephart and later to Elizabeth LNU. In the 1850 Census, his wife is listed as Elizabeth. In one of his son's Ohio Death Certificate (Abner), his mother is listed as Mariah, so perhaps the first 4 children were Mariah's. For the other children, I either couldn't get a death certificate or the mother was unfortunately listed as unknown. The other possibility is there was one wife and she was Mariah Elizabeth LNU or Elizabeth Mariah LNU. Issac had 11 children, one of which was the eldest, my GGgrandfather, Abraham Gabriel Kilmer.
Issac's grave was found by Mary Downing-Mahan. He was buried in Pfoutz Cemetery, which is behind a farm house field. It is located on Clayton Road in Perry Township, Ohio and is located a 1/2 mile from Eversole Cemetery on Old Dayton Road.
Isaac's headstone states he was 59 years and 15 days old at the time of his death. Isaac's infant daughter, Sarah A. is buried to the left of his headstone. Apparently, there were no headstones visible for any wife(ves).
