MRS. SMITH
Elaine Traweek (Smitty) Smith of Portland, Texas, formerly of Lampasas, died December 13, 2004, at Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi. She was 81.
Funeral services are December 18 at 10 a.m. at Edgar Funeral Home in Burnet. Burial will be at Cauble Cemetery in Burnet County. Visitation is December 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith was born July 3, 1923, at Lake Victor, the daughter of E. V. and Flora Traweek. She married S. G. (Schooley) Smith on December 17, 1966. Mrs. Smith moved to Portland in January 1967, shortly after her marriage. She worked at Corpus Christi and had been a registered nurse for 59 years.
Survivors include three sons; Gary Doane of Portland, Gene Doane and wife, Connie, of Lampasas, and Roger Doane and wife, Marci, of Burnet; two daughters; Priscilla Doane of Lake Victor, and Annette Seay, of Portland; a sister, Margaret (Becky) McKinney, of Austin; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; by a sister, Jean T. Young; and by two grandchildren, Kevin and Gabriel Doane.
