Thomas Wardwell was baptized at Alford, Lincolnshire, 31 January 1603/4, son of John Wardwell. He married by 1632 Elizabeth _____ (named as mother on the Boston birth records of the last four children). Alford, Lincolnshire.
A Shoemaker from Alford, Lincolnshire, he brought his family to Massachusetts Bay in 1634 (based on admission to Boston church on 9 November 1634.
They first settled in Boston moved to Exeter in 1639, and returned to Boston by 1646. He died at Boston 10 December 1646.
Thomas Wardwell was brother of WILLIAM WARDWELL {1633, Boston}.
In 1996 Marjorie Wardwell Otten prepared a brief account of this immigrant and of a line of descent through his son Samuel. (Otten proposed that Samuel had an eldest son Thomas, born about 1671, by an unrecorded first wife; additional evidence on these claims would be welcome.)
