They first settled in Boston moved to Exeter in 1639, and returned to Boston by 1646. He died at Boston 10 December 1646.

In 1996 Marjorie Wardwell Otten prepared a brief account of this immigrant and of a line of descent through his son Samuel. (Otten proposed that Samuel had an eldest son Thomas, born about 1671, by an unrecorded first wife; additional evidence on these claims would be welcome.)
