Mr. Harrell died at 11:40 p.m. Friday, November 24, 1989 at Humana Hospital. He was a native of Lewisville, Arkansas and had lived in Winnfield for over 60 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He came to Winnfield in 1925 as manager of the Mansfield Hardwood Lumber Company. In 1945 he became a partner in Harrell's Builders Supply until his retirement in 1978. He served on the Winnfield City Council from 1962 until 1966. He was a charter member of the Winnfield Rotary Club and a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Tappy Harrell, Jr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Juan Watkins of Shreveport; seven grandchildren, Melissa Pool, Will Watkins, Craig Watkins, Amy Watkins, Brent Watkins, and Albert and Martin Harrell; three great-grandchildren, Callie Pool and Abigail Pool, and Christine Harrell; one brother, Tommie Harrell, Sr. of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Mulkey of Shreveport and Mrs. Elizabeth Walker of Ft. Worth, Texas.
Memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Southern Funeral Home.
