John H. Benning, 45 years old, died of pneumonia at his home at 703 South Fourth street on the 7th. The funeral was held on the 9th from the home of his sisters, at 1119 Santa Fe street. The deceased was a well known bricklayer. He had been sick since last Thursday, but it was not supposed that his illness was serious. His wife survives him. Charles W. Benning, the Kansas City contractor, was his brother. Henry G. Benning, the railroad man, and George H. Benning were also brothers. Misses Eliza and Martha Benning, teachers, and Miss Mina Benning, bookkeeper at Barrett's store, were his sisters.
