Mrs. EMMA M. PAYNE, 71, wife of the former S. T. PAYNE, veteran lumberman of Saint Jo, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. LARKIN HOWARD, 19 miles northwest of Saint Jo, Tuesday evening. Funeral services were held at the Saint Jo Baptist Church Wednesday, conducted by Rev. J. M. COCHRAN, assisted by Rev. PAUL THOMPSON. Interment in Mountain Park cemetery arranged by Scott Bros. Mrs. Payne is survived by a daughter, Mrs. HOMER CASKEY of Athens, Ohio, three brothers, GEORGE PUCKETT of Nocona, J. M. PUCKETT of Sonora, and R. L. PUCKETT of Big Spring, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. LARKIN HOWARD of Shady Grove and Mrs. L. F. HUDSON of Goldwaithe, Texas. Pallbearers were C. D. MEADOR, S. C. ROACH, W. W. WALKER, LUKE GRANT, LUTHER SLAUGHTER, and K. R. DORT.
