A man of God, family, art and ideas. Steve Roday passed away in his sleep on November 22, at age 65.


Steve was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 15, 1944, to Ruth and Harry Roday.

He attended Columbia University and was the founder and editor of the Columbia Literary Review, Hotspur. the University Review and New York Poetry He was an Assoicate Fellow and Publisher of the Institute for Policy Studies, founder and publisher of Entelechy Press, and sole proprietor of Roday Literary Agency with 23 published authors.

He studied classical painting in Florence, Italy, and established an art studio in Carabelle, Florida.

Later in life, Steve returned to the family business in Newington, CT.

Steve is survived by his wife Marianne, son Zack, and daughter, Chelsea of Washington, D.C., and daughters, Ruth, Miriam, and Emmy, of Orange, CT.

He also leaves behind two brothers, Leon Roday and his wife Lisa of Richmond, VA; Robert Roday and his wife Debbie of Huntington, NY; and a sister, Diane Hosford, and her husband Matt of Washington, D.C. and nine nieces and nephews.

Funeral services at Cong. Or Shalom, 205 Old Grassy Hill Rd., Orange, TUESDAY Morning at 9:00 o'clock. The family will begin receiving at 8:00 o'clock. A period of mourning will be observed at 159 Russell Ave., Orange, commencing Wed evening. Funeral arrangements in care of the Robert E. Shure Funeral Home, New Haven.
