Melba was United in marriage to Frank DeShazo on December 7,1946. They were blessed with a son Dwayne and a daughter Terry. Their family relocated to Lawrence, Ks. Where much of their lives were spent, before moving back to Missouri upon their retirement in 1991. She was affectionately known as Mrs. Smuckers locally, as she enjoyed making jams and jellies as gifts to friends and family.
Surviving is her son Dwayne Deshazo and wife Karen of Lincoln Mo; daughter Terry Willis and husband David of Tonganoxie, KS. Grandchildren Devon Deshazo of Lawrence Ks; Shana Meadows of Sarasota Fl; Jeremy (Mooney) Deshazo and great-grandson Westley of Kansas. Five siblings; Doris Jasnocha, Iona Turner, Carol Dodd, Mabel Fowler and Paul Reeves all of Missouri. Melba leaves behind a host of family and friends that will miss her dearly.
