According to the 1850 census of Sullivan co., Indiana, William was born ca 1803. His first wife died and his second was thirty years younger, and so was his ages of other censuses and family records.

There were 10 children by Eliza and 12 more by his much younger wife, Sarah Ann. Most removed from Indiana to Texas in 1874 and settled near Blanket, in western Brown County. William returned to Grayson County, Texas, where he remained his final days.
