Emily May Vance Meakin, 53, of 2185 Mabey Dr., died at 8 a.m. Thursday at the family home.
She was born March 23, 1900, in Salt Lake City, a daughter of George W. and Amanda Erma Hartley Vance. She spent her entire life here.
She was a member of the Relief Society at Edgehill Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Surviving are her husband, Blaine Meakin, Salt Lake City; two sons, Robert Blaine Meakin, Los Angeles, and Harold Dwight Meakin, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Barbara Jeanne Hollingshouse, Salt Lake City, and Beverly May Smith, both of Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren; two brothers, George L. Vance, Ogden, and Jessie L. Vance, Seattle, Wash., and three sisters, Mrs. Lillie Lou Hatch, Woods Cross; Mrs. Afton Perry, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Maurine Poll, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 pm. at 36 E 7th South, where friends may call Sunday 5 to 8 pm. and Monday prior to services.
Burial will be in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
