Augusta Patzig emigrated from Germany with her parents, Johann and Johanna (Scheunert) Patzig and two siblings, Louis and Lena to Wisconsin. Augusta married John Blank and they had a son, Charles, born in 1864. John Blank was killed in the Civil War.

Augusta Blank married Philip Fluck in 1868 in Black Hawk County. The family later moved to Le Mars, Plymouth county, Iowa, where Philip opened a furniture store and a grocery store.

Augusta and Philip are the parents of:
Edward Louis (also known as E.L. or Edward), Anna, George (who is buried next to his parents), Katharina (who married James Junkin), William (who later went by FLUKE), Elizabeth (the 3rd wife of James Junkin), Jacob & Michael, twins; Henry (Heinrich); Philip Fluck Jr.; and Ernst.
