This is actually the grave of Mario Francis Davis, Jr. He was born November 27th, 1863 to parents Marion Francis Davis and Rebecca Jane Lawing Davis. He was their only son as his father was killed during the Civil War just six months before Marion Jr was born.

Marion Francis Davis, Jr married Mary Elizabeth Lawing on February 1, 1887. They had six children - Cara J, Charley L, William F, Cora L, Lester C and Benjamin D Davis. Mary Elizabeth died April 29th, 1902.

Marion Francis Davis, Jr married Evan Rebecca Morgan on August 20, 1902. They had eight children - Washington F Morgan (Evan's son born prior to her marriage to Marion Francis Davis, Jr; father was Morris Lawing); Clyde D, Effie L, Mamie M, Mae Sue, Elijah M, Chester E, and Oma E Davis.

Evan Rebecca Morgan Davis died on November 25, 1951 and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Marion, NC. Marion Francis Davis, Jr died September 8, 1915 and is buried in the Lawing Cemetery, Marion, NC.
