WESLACO, TX. — James Onrow Wilson ,90,
passed away on Friday, June 25, 2010 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, while surrounded by his loved ones.

James was born in Burnsville, Alabama to Melvin H. and Maggie Wilson. At age 5, they moved to Weslaco where he attended Weslaco High School and worked on his father's farm.

In 1944, he was drafted into the Army and was proud to have served his country during WWII. He was injured twice during his service and received two Purple Hearts in 1945 and 1946.

Onrow returned from the war in 1946 and later married Frances "Tinkey" Hunt. He devoted himself to his wife and his son Steve R. Wilson (Elsa). Throughout his life, he continued his joy of farming under Wilson Farms, until his retirement, but he always made time for another great joy of his, that being dancing and traveling and did that as much as he could with his beloved wife, Tinkey, of 59 years.

He is survived by his wife, Frances and son, Steve; four grandchildren: Priscilla Lane (Earl), Luke Wilson (Ashley), Michael Quesada, Amber Wilson and two great-grandchildren: Alina Nicole Quesada and Preston Dean Lane.

Onrow is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Maggie and three brothers: Ernest, Audiss and Arthur.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, June 28, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco.

Graveside services will be held at the Weslaco City Cemetery on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 10:00 AM with military honors performed by Mid Valley Honor Guard.
