James Benson "J.B." Brillheart, Jr., 85, of Pulaski died Saturday, May 8, 2010 in the Virginia Veterans Care Center, Roanoke, VA. He was born in Dublin, VA on February 4, 1925 and was the son of the late James Benson Brillheart, Sr. and Gertie Lester Brillheart. Mr. Brillheart was a retired employee from APCO having 42 years of service and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Brillheart was a member of the Pulaski Elks Lodge, Henry Clay Masonic Lodge, Pulaski Jaycees, Pulaski Country Club and the First United Methodist Church. He was involved in local government on many levels. Mr. Brillheart was one of the original members of the Old Pros NRCC Dance Band playing the piano.
Surviving are, his wife of 62 years, Laura Elkins Brillheart, daughter and son-in-law, Beth and David Moore, son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Diane Brillheart, grandchildren, Sarah and Jade, great grandchildren, Jackson, Lucas, Alex, and Jonathan, and aunt, Greta Morrell.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Norman Wilhoit officiating. Visiting will be Tuesday evening at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until the service hour. A private interment will be held later.
