Mrs. Virgie Morrell Bowman, 78 Rt. 3, died Sunday morning at home after a long illness.
Born in Bluff City, she had lived in Washington County for 54 years. She was the widow of Dr. S. J. Bowman and a member the Church of the Brethren.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. J. O. Bacon, Jonesboro; Mrs. Omar Rowe, Mrs. Frank lsenberg and Mrs. Clarence Denny, all of Johnson City; six stepchildren: Dr. Paul H. Bowman, Bridgewater. Va.; J. Price Bowman, Roanoke, Va.: Nile Bowman, Jonesboro; Early Bowman, city; Mrs. W. H. Cline, Vienna. Va.: Miriam Bowman, Roanoke, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Will McClellan and Bertha Morrell, both of Bluff City: a brother, Dayton Morrell, Detroit; and 27 grandchildren.
