ROACH - Minnie Smith, daughter of John and Mary Ann Smith, was born February 22, 1884, in Plymouth, Pa., and entered into rest March 27, 1966 at the age of 82 years and one month.
She was married to Thomas Francis Roach at Albia on November 28, 1905. To this union six children were born: Edmond of near Russell, William Paul of Ames, Virginia Jeffries of Millerton, Evelyn Lewis of near Melrose, and Ruth at home. A daughter, Mary Margaret died in infancy. Mrs. Roach was preceded in death by her husband in January, 1950.
Left to mourn her passing are her children, grandchildren, Mary Kay Kaikkonen, Joanne Dennis and Jeanine Roach, Michael and Thomas Roach and Jane Ann Miller, and great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jennifer Miller, one brother, John Smith of Des Moines and several nieces and nephews.
She was baptized in the Sacred Heart Church at Chariton by the late Rev. Father Charles O'Conner. Her sterling character, devotion to family, as well as all things she held to be good, will always live in our memories.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Father C. J. Gaul, were held at Woodman's Funeral home on March 28, 1966, with burial in the Chariton cemetery.
