SERVICES HELD FOR NORMA JEAN QUINN

Norma Jean Quinn, 65, passed away January 1, 1999 in Oxford, Ne., following a lengthy illness.

Services were conducted Monday, January 4, 1999 from the Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Wes Holen officiating. Organist was Marti Baily and a duet was sung by Lonnie and Claire Moore.

Pallbearers were Heath Hammond, Jeret Hammond, Brandon Quinn, Brett Hammond, Reve' Quinn and Haley Quinn. Honorary Pallbearers included all the grandchildren. Burial was in the Oxford Cemetery.

Norma Jean was born December 7, 1933 at Halan County, Nebraska the fourth of six children of George W. and Inez Marie (Gildersleeve) Mays.

Norma attended school at Orleans, Ne. On April 23, 1952 she was united in marriage to Alonzo Quinn at Phillipsburg, Ks. To this union four children were born: Tuwanna, Lonnie, Rick and Terry.

During the first couple years of their marriage they resided in Anchorage, Alaska while Alonzo served in the United States Army. They relocated to Edison, Ne and later to Oxford in 1977 where she resided until her death.

Norma worked as a lab technician for Becton Dickinson at Holdrege, Ne for over 25 years retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Oxford, enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting activities, golfing and horse racing.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Alonzo, of Oxford; one daughter, Tuwanna Hammond and her husband, Jerry, of Oxford; three sons: Lonnie Quinn and his wife, Bernie, of Oxford, Rick Quinn and his wife, Lori, of Meeker, Co., and Terry Quinn and his wife, Deana, of Bandera, Tx.

Also 12 grandchildren: Heath, Brett, Jeret, Reve', Brandon, Haley, Chase, Carter, Taylor, Jessica, Brent and Dan. Two sisters: Loretta Nickerson and her husband, Hershal, of Casper, Wy., and Janice Vahle and her husband, George, of Prairie View, Ks., two brothers: Melvin Mays and his wife, Doris, of Loveland, Co., and Gilbert Mays of Hastings, Ne., and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Donna Fix.
