FINAL RITES HELD FOR ONE-TIME RESIDENT OF COUNTY
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Wilder Funeral home in Fort Dodge for John F. Wittman, 66, of Fort Dodge, who passed away Sunday morning at 5:15 at the Mercy hospital in Fort Dodge after a short illness. Burial took place in the North Lawn cemetery in Fort Dodge with the Rev. Brunemeter, pastor of the First Evangelical church of Boxholm, officiating.
Mr. Wittman was a brother of Albert, Ed and Emil Wittman, and Mrs. Alma Bjornson, all of Humboldt. He at one time operated a grocery store at Pioneer, this county.
He was born in Somonauk, Illinois, on January 2, 1874, and came to Pioneer when he was about ten years old. He moved from Pioneer to Fort Dodge, where he had been twenty years prior to his death.
He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Patricia Mary and Nancy Joan, and a son, John Dexter, and the above three brothers and a sister.
