Belle Ferguson

Oberlin - Belle Carrington Ferguson died at her home, 89 S. Professor st., at 6:30 p.m. Saturday following a six-week illness.

Born in Norwalk on June 6, 1871, she had resided here for 31 years after coming from Cleveland where she had been a member of the Church of the Covenant. While residing here she had attended First Church.

A student at the Oberlin Conservatoary from 1893-95, she also studied in Boston and was graduated from the American Conservatory of Music at Chicago in 1905.

Surviving is her husband, William D. The couple celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary last July 1. Also surviving is a daughter, Miss Alice Catherine Ferguson, of Oberlin, who teaches school in the Ashland system.

The body is at the Cowling-Sedgeman Funeral Home where friends may call. Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday from First Church. Burial will be made in Westwood Cemetery.
