Albertha Marie Vander Mheen Aberson was born at Barneveld, the Netherlands, on December 9, 1857, and passed away at the home of her son, Joe Aberson, on May 12, 1938, having attained the age of 80 years, 5 months and 3 days.

On June 15, 1883, she was united in marriage to Mr. Anthony Aberson and to this union 8 children were born, two dying in infancy. The family came to the United States in July, 11, and have resided in the vicinity of Alton since. On November 10, 1917, Mr. Aberson passed away and since that time she had made her home with her family.

Mrs. Aberson was a devoted and loving mother, a faithful, life-long member of the Reformed Church. She is survived by one daughter and five sons, as follows: Nellie, Mrs. P. Leenhouts; Joe L. Aberson, Anthony and Bert, living in and around Alton; Henry, Dickinson, N.D.; and Rev. J. Aberson, Rock Valley.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 14, at one o'clock at the home and at two o'clock at the First Reformed Church. The Rev. E. Van Engelenhoven was in charge of the services. The remains were laid to rest next to her husband at Nassau Township Cemetery west of Alton.
