She was a former bus driver for Hardin ISD, member of the Red Hat Society, and enjoyed flowers, watching birds and crafts.
She passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2009, in St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Beaumont. Her father, T.U. Peebles and mother, Mallie Evelyn Smith Shephard preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Billy Smoke of Hardin; sons, Todd Smoke and wife, Suzanna and Greg Smoke, all of Hardin; grandchildren, Chet Smoke, Logan McDaniel, Caleb McDaniel, Dalton Smoke, Brianna McDaniel and Kellie Smoke; sister, Susie Oliver and husband, Gil, of Greenville, Mississippi; nephew, Tom Oliver; niece, Deb Russell; and numerous other relatives and friends.
