I have been working on all my family lines for over 30 years. I use FAG as one of my main sources to gather information. I would like to ask all volunteers on this site to please put the correct legal birth names, birth and death dates on each memorial. It only takes a few minutes to look it up on ancestry.com There is a space to put an "also known as". For females be sure to put their maiden name in the correct space if they have been married. If they had more than one husband please use the current husband's last name as her surname. Also, more important is to PLEASE double check to see if there is already a memorial for your family member. I have found countless dozens of duplicate memorials over the years. You will have to search under both legal name and nick names to find duplicates. Also many surnames are under the wrong legal spelling of a person's name. I am very grateful for all the hard work each volunteer has put into creating the millions of memorials on FAG. If anyone has created a memorial for a non family member that was born in 1953 I would like to request a transfer. A few years ago I spent many months going through birth/death records for babies born in Texas in 1953 and created several thousand memorials. When I see an obituary for anyone anywhere that was born in 1953 I create memorials for them. My reason is because I was born in 1953 and want to honor the memory of these people.
