She was the wife of Greenberry Hamilton Nugent, the son of William Nugent and Hannah Merritt. Their record in the 1850 Census of Grayson County enumerates the Nugent family as Household # 575, consisting of Greenberry H., a 29 year old farmer; his wife Serilda A., age 29; and their two children: Charles F., age 3; and Thomas A., age 1. Their son Harrison Nugent was born on Febraury 10, 1851.
There is a Zerilda Nugent buried in the Harrell Cemetery at Ferry Hill, near Short Creek, Grayson County, Kentucky. The dates given for her are the same dates given for the name above her. It is probable that the dates for Zerilda were given incorrectly. It is believed that the Serilda Nugent, a 35 year old married female, who was also noted as a "spinster" in the death record, is the one buried in this cemetery. Her death record on microfilm shows Serilda Nugent was the daughter of William McClure. She died on November 29, 1855, of Fever Remittent.
