Overexertion Causes Death
An acute heart attack said to have been induced by overexertion while assisting in removing merchandise from the basement of Anheier Inc., 314 East Market street, resulted in death of Julian A. Spalding, 68, 1418 East Market street, shortly before noon Wednesday.
After making his last trip from the basement Mr. Spalding leaned against the bar and then remarked that he believed he would take a chair. As he attempted to seat himself he crumpled to the floor, dead. Dr. M. B. Stewart, coroner was summoned.

Funeral Saturday For Heart Victim
Funeral rites for Julian A. Spalding, who died unexpectedly from a heart attack Wednesday, will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic church at 9 a.m. Saturday, Father Aichinger in charge. The body will be placed temporarily in the mausoleum in Mt. Hope cemetery. Mr. Spalding is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Irene Hyle with whom he resided, and Mrs. Dennis McRea of Bicknell, and three sons, Walter, Elmer and Herschell, all of South Bend.
