Charles Benda, 83, of Luray was found dead in his home Monday evening, March 24. He died Saturday, March 22, 1975.

The son of John and Kathryn Rosen Benda, he was born December 4, 1891 at Corydon, Iowa.

Mr. Benda was a retired farmer and a member of the Luray Methodist Church.

He married Emma Ellen Kerr, September 28, 1913 in Kahoka and she died March 22, 1963.

Surviving are two daughters, Edna Mae Smith of Washburn, Missouri and Mrs. Ruth Flannelly of Little Rock, Arkansas; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Morrison of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; Mrs. Irene Dial of Ausin, Minnesota, six grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
