The 1900 US Census of Wilsonville, Shelby Co., AL enumerated the household of 44 Y/O Amaziah Erasmus Burns, a Baptist preacher born in AL, and his 28 Y/O second wife, Fannie (Thomas) Burns, born in AL. Amaziah and Fannie had been married 2 years in 1900. Also living in the household were children from both of Amaziah's marriages: 15 Y/O Percy P. Burns; 13 Y/O daughter, Mary Mellene Burns; 11 Y/O Roselle Bandy Burns; 7 Y/O "Son" and 1 Y/O Frank M. Burns. Also living in the residence was a 24 Y/O unmarried daughter-in-law, Louella Thomas. Also living in her household were her children: 16 Y/O Mada Roselle Berry (b. 27 Nov 1913 Gadsden, Etowah Co., AL, d. 18 Oct 2007 in FL) and 14 Y/O Ann E. Berry.

The 1935 and 1940 City Directory of Birmingham, Jefferson Co., AL recorded Roselle B. Berry, widow of Bonney Berry, as a public school teacher at Barrett Elementary School in East Lake. She was living at 7764 2nd Ave, South (East Lake section of the city). The 1940 City Directory records her daughter, Ann E. Berry, living at the same address. Ann was also recorded as a public school teacher. Note: Miss Ann E. Berry was my (Dr. Gresham Farrar) 1947 7th grade school teacher at Robinson Elementary School in the East Lake section of Birmingham, AL.)

The 1950 City Directory of of Birmingham, Jefferson Co., AL recorded Roselle B. Berry, widow of Bonney Berry, as a public school teacher at Barrett Elementary School in East Lake. She was still living at 7764 2nd Ave, South (East Lake section of the city).

The 1960 City Directory of of Birmingham, Jefferson Co., AL recorded Roselle B. Berry, widow of Bonney Berry, still living at 7764 2nd Ave, South (East Lake section of the city). It appears that Roselle retied from teaching between 1959 and 1960.
