Magdaline Carlen married Thomas Ellis, a farmer, on 26 Oct 1745 in Berks Co., PA. Between 1746 and 1772 they had 16 children.
On 29 Nov 1764 the family was granted a certificate of transfer from Exeter to Hopewell by the Quakers. In 1797 the Tax List shows the family had 200 acres in Sinking Creek.
Magdaline and Thomas rest together now in the Quaker Knob Cemetery.
Note: Oct 2011 - I searched the entire cemetery and could not find the grave. There are probably 100 graves without markers here and many with just stones with no legible writing. I (FaG Member ID #47556948) chalked any markers with writing and still did not find this stone.
