Oran G. "John" Judd, age 75, of Clarendon, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999 at his home.
Mr. Judd was born January 20, 1924 in Lark, TX to the late Isam T. and Dena Josephine Mullins Judd.
The family moved to Collingsworth County in September 1924 and farmed in the Roundup Community until moving about three miles south of Wellington in 1940.
He moved to Amarillo in 1949 and lived until 1960. He had been a general contractor most of his life before his retirement. He was an army veteran and a member of the Clarendon Church of Christ, where he was a deacon for several years.
He married Willene Burgett on November 24, 1942 at Hollis, OK. They had celebrated 56 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Willene; two sons, Glen Judd of Georgetown and Eddy Judd of Clarendon; three brothers, Preston Judd of Clarendon, Dick Judd of Wellington and Buck Judd of Amarillo; five sisters, Helen Wisdom of Amarillo, Juanita Fister of Austin, Janell Standifer of Yukon, OK, Imogene Johnson of Amarillo and Betty Lindley of Clarendon; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, I.T. Judd in 1960 and Dena Judd in 1949; three brothers, Thurston Judd of Portland, OR in 1950; Denny Judd of Wellington, 1985 and Jiggs Judd of Azle in 1996; two sisters, Birdie Francis of Amarillo in 1997 and Ruth Culp of Amarillo in 1995.
