Tillman Knox Criswell married Savilla Matilda McLarty on 16 January 1879 at Parker County, Texas. The couple immediately moved to Young County and settled in the Salem Community. He preceded her in death.
Savilla Matilda Criswell, 85, passed away at her home. She moved to Texas with her parents in 1885 from Georgia. She had been a member of the Methodist Church since early childhood and was active in its work and other civic activities.
Survived by two sons - J.S. Criswell and H.D. Criswell; one granddaughter; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother - S.W. McLarty, two half-brothers - Walter Long and Frank Long; two half-sisters - Mrs. James Garrett and Mrs. Hugh Howard.
