Born Oct. 17, 1911, in Franklin, Ky., to Sam and Maude Rainwater Neal, he married Wilda Boyer on March 12, 1934, in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, James Neal of Glasford; one daughter, Janice Volk of Bloomington; three grandsons; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one grandson.
He owned Neal Construction Co. in Sunnyland for 20 years and Neal Laundry and Dry Cleaning in Sunnyland for 15 years.
He was a 50-year member and Past Master of Hilton Masonic Lodge 1143 in East Peoria; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria; Mohammed Temple, Shrine; and Carpenters Local 183 in Peoria. He was a member and former elder of Sunnyland Christian Church.
