Born Aug. 18, 1911, in Bevier, Mo., to Fred and Helen Veal Brinker, he married Evelyn Riddle in 1932. He later married Virginia Weghorst on Nov. 6, 1971, in Washburn. She survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Ray D. of Manito, Carl E. of East Peoria, Ronald F. of Chillicothe, Harley D. of Creve Coeur and Alan L. of Wright City, Mo.; one stepson, James D. Williams of Green Valley; one daughter, Mrs. Bert (Barbara J.) Bogard of Manito; two stepdaughters, Julie L. Hedrick of South Pekin and Leilani Doss of Deer Creek; three sisters, Nellie Christoff of Metamora, Lucille Bruketta of Oxnard, Calif., and Alma Klockenga of East Peoria; 27 grandchildren; and 29 great- grandchildren.
Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
He was a foundry supervisor at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for 40 years, retiring in 1973.
Burial will be in Fon Du Lac Cemetery.
