On 15 Mar 1952 Evelyn Ruth (Atwell) Haight married Bruce Freeman Crossley in Frewsburg, Chautauqua Co., New York. Bruce was the Assistant Police Chief. They didn't have any children. However, in 1970 they adopted the daughter of Bruce's sister Cheryl - Tracy Lyn Crossley born 16 Jan 1969.
About 1971 they moved from Clarendon, New York to Polk Co., Florida where they lived out the rest of their lives. Because Bruce was a "Veteran" they rest in different cemeteries a few miles distant from each other now.
