Heinrich Charles "Henry" Kneese was born on 6 November 1855 in Gillespie County Texas. His parents were Christian Ferdinand Ludwig Kneese (1823-1892) and Louisa nee Bucholz (1835-1911).

Henry had twelve siblings (eleven linked and Friedrich Ludwig Robert (1852-1894))

On 10 April 1882, at the age of 26, Henry married Emma Caroline Webber. Henry and Emma had three sons; Arnold, Rufus, and Clemens, and three daughters; Rosalie, Alvina, and Rufine.

Henry passed away on 16 October 1924 at the age of 68 years 11 months 10 days.
