SEVERIN "SY" MAHLBERG

Si S. Mahlberg, 53, passed away suddenly at 1:15 p.m. Sunday at his home at Crystal Lake. He was born February 14, 1896, at Charlesburg, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Mahlberg. He was married to Miss Amanda Stemper on October 27, 1919, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 1939. On Feb. 7, 1948, he was married to the former Olive Spangler. For many years he headed an orchestra in this vicinity, and he has been an owner and operator of taverns in this county and in other parts of the state for a long period of time.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Giles (Jeanette) Knowles of Campbellsport, and Mr. Warren (Lova) Pfrang of Plymouth; one son, Allan (Jack) Mahlberg of Milwaukee; step-daughters, Violet Joan and Patricia Spangler at home; two grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Simon Hoffman and Mrs. Emil Shirza of Milwaukee, Mrs. Connie Bloomquist of Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Walter Dodd of Oshkosh, and Mrs. Edward Stemper of New Holstein and Casper of Kiel. One brother also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Wittkopp Funeral home, Plymouth, and at 10 a.m. at St. Fridolin Catholic church, Glenbeulah. The Rev. J.H. Goebel will officiate and burial will be made in St. Ann's cemetery, St. Ann.
The body will lie in state from today until time of services. A funeral vigil will be held at the funeral home today at 7:30 p.m.
