Berks county was formed on March 11, 1752 from parts of Chester County, Lancaster County, and Philadelphia County

The Old Quaker Cemetery is now called the Arden United Methodist Church & Cemetery. A search in 2011 determined that no markers exist for any Ellis family members resting now in this cemetery.
