Services for Charlotte Alexander, 90, of Amarillo will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, at St. Stephens United Methodist Church at 4600 S. Western Street in Amarillo with Dr. Jim Smith officiating. She died Monday, March 1, 2004.

Mrs. Alexander was born Charlotte Marie Berry on Aug. 28, 1913 in Nocona, Texas. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1929. She married Kenneth Y. Alexander in 1931 in Amarillo. He preceded her in death in 1978. They were married for 48 years. She was also preceded in death by a younger sister in 1965 and by her daughter, Anne Zimmerman in 1998. Charlotte was a department store salesperson in Amarillo and Lubbock for over 30 years. She worked at Hemphillwells and Dunlap's in Lubbock and for Blackburns, Sakowitz and Dunlap's in Amarillo. She could always remember and call all her customers by name.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth L. Alexander and wife of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; a son-in-law, John L. Zimmerman and wife of Amaril lo; six grandchildren and spouses, and 19 great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren are from Maryland, Pennsylvania or Amarillo. Family visitation and viewing will be from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Schooler Funeral Home at 4100 S. Georgia in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock with the Rev. Matt Woffington officiating.
